A Beginning

Good afternoon

I am a "Baby boomer" who has enjoyed threads and fibers since I can remember.  I am a weaver, knitter, quilter, one who sews, and for the last five years, I have been a tatter.  (I can crochet but it is not my favorite.)  I have enjoyed reading the blogs of many tatters and seeing the beautiful work that they do.  Now my own blog begins where I will share what I have done.  

In the early 1970's, a friend's Grandmother introduced me to tatting.  She gave me a shuttle and thread and demonstrated how to make a ring.  I did lots of rings connected to each other.  We were never able to reconnect and I never could understand the written directions for tatting.  I never was able to get past rings attached to each other.  I was blessed to come across the "Learn to Tat" book and DVD by Janette Baker and here I am.   With viewing that DVD, it all made sense.  I have since showed my daughter and two of her friends how to tat (they were also given Janette's book to keep as a reference).
