Road Trip(s)

This week life has kept me away from my 3030 Quilt.

Below is what is made on road trips.  Shabby Fabric: Silent Night scalloped table topper.  I will be making two more of these to give away.   The outside circle is almost completed, then on to the sewing.  This one calls for a metallic gold thread.  I didn't find it that enjoyable to work with, so, on the next one I will use a non-metallic gold thread.  Then decide between the two which I will use on the third.

Only one day was spent with my 3030 Quilt.  The right side is half-way done.  I wanted to be farther along, but life.

Linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching at Kathy's Quilts.  This is what I will be doing this afternoon.  Enjoy your day.

  2. Metallic gold thread is awful to work with, but you can make it a little better by pulling it through some beeswax. Your embroidery is very pretty. I love your quilting also.

    1. Thank you. I had thought of beeswax as I use that when quilting. Didn't want to try on the metallic thread as I didn't know if it would ruin it. I will give it a try.

  3. Your Silent Night stitching is beautiful! I haven't ever worked with metallic thread, sounds like it can be challenging. Have a lovely stitching day!

  4. Beautiful stitching and quilting. Metallic thread is challenging it always seems to be shredding.

  5. Metallic thread is not easy to use. I've only worked with it once, hand quilting a very small wall hanging, and had endless trouble, never again.

  6. Your Silent Night stitching is beautiful. Have you tried the DMC Diamant Grande metallic thread it stitches like a dream.
